On this week’s episode, we tackle the least-respected genre in film today–the video game adaptation–as we discuss 2007’s DOA: DEAD OR ALIVE, directed by Corey Yuen. Watch as four of the most beautiful women on the planet strap on bikinis, play volleyball, and kick a whole lot of ass in a movie tailor-made for pretty much every twelve-year-old boy on the planet. And we haven’t even mentioned Eric Roberts as the pajama-clad villain. So is this cheese-fest truly a tale of female empowerment? Or does the message get lost somewhere around the tenth close-up of a bikini-clad butt? All we know for sure is that it’s certainly the most faithful video game adaptation ever put to film.
